About - Making Piano Easy for Beginners

Hey, I’m Annabelle, and welcome to Simply Easy Piano 😊🎹

I started learning piano as an adult, and I quickly discovered what many beginners experience: traditional lessons often begin with classical pieces and music theory, which can feel overwhelming and disconnected from the music we actually want to play. Practicing started to feel more like a task than something I looked forward to.

What I really wanted was to play the songs I loved hearing on the radio. Backstreet Boys, Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne — those were the songs that made me want to sit at the piano. When I began experimenting on my own and simplifying melodies so they felt manageable, everything changed. Suddenly, piano felt enjoyable, personal, and achievable.

Many adult beginners face the same challenges: limited practice time, fear of making mistakes, difficulty reading complex sheet music, and frustration when progress feels slow. Most of us aren’t trying to become concert pianists, we simply want to relax, enjoy music, and play songs we recognize.

That’s why I created Simply Easy Piano.

I personally transcribe each piece into clear, beginner-friendly arrangements designed to remove overwhelm and build confidence. My sheet music focuses on simple layouts, approachable melodies, and minimal complexity so you can practice independently without feeling stuck or discouraged.

Whether you’re starting for the first time, returning after years away, or just looking for a more enjoyable way to learn, my goal is to help you play music you love, feel proud of your progress, and make piano a relaxing part of your day.

Because learning piano as an adult shouldn’t feel stressful — it should feel rewarding.

My 5-step Sheet Music Creation Process:

1. Playing and Transcribing

I personally transcribe each piece by ear. The software works such that whenever I play a note on my keyboard, it appears on my laptop screen. This helps me to visually track what I play.

2. Adding Lyrics

Next, I add lyrics under each corresponding note.

3. Printing

Then, I print out the transcribed sheet music.

4. Proofreading

Next, I proofread over some (much needed) coffee!

5. Playing

Lastly, I play the piece on the keyboard as a test!
